Oba Makarna Became a WEPs Signatory



Turkey's pasta producer and exporter Oba Makarna became a signatory of the United Nations Women's Empowerment Principles, known as WEPs. Emphasizing that Oba Makarna is a company that focuses on increasing women's employment and strengthening the role of women in the business world, İpek Cıncıkcı, Member of the Board of Directors of Oba Makarna, said: “Women have always played an active role in our deep-rooted company history and we aim to continue our activities as a ‘women-friendly’ company with the same perspective. We believe that the WEPs, of which we are a signatory, will guide us in realizing this goal.”

Oba Makarna, one of Turkey's largest industrial companies and exporters, became a signatory of the United Nations Women's Empowerment Principles (WEPs) in line with its vision of an inclusive, fair and sustainable future. Providing guidance to the business world on how to advance gender equality and women's empowerment in the workplace, marketplace and society, the WEPs offer a framework jointly developed by UN Women and the United Nations Global Compact to promote women's equality in the business world.
